Cleveland Indians pitcher Jake Westbrook allowed one run on three hits in 1 2/3 innings in his first start in the Dominican League this winter. Westbrook was on a 35-pitch limit. Four of his five outs came on ground balls.
Westbrook has not pitched in the major leagues since May of 2008. He is recovering from Tommy John surgery. His next start is scheduled for December 6th and he will be limited three innings or 45 pitches. Westbrook is in the last year of his contract. He is scheduled to make $11 million in 2010.
